Rupert Baines appointed Chairman of RANsemi

Rupert BainesWith a distinguished track record guiding startups from early-stage funding to successful exits, Baines brings decades of experience and strategic insight to RANsemi as it gears up for growth and transformation.

Baines has held leadership roles across high-growth companies, advising founders and boards through venture capital (VC) rounds, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions. Most notably, as CEO of UltraSoC, he reshaped the company and took it through to exit. In addition to his significant fundraising experience as an executive, he has worked directly as a VC at Pond Ventures and Cambridge Innovation Capital (CIC).

In addition to RANsemi, Baines currently holds positions as Chair of Cambridge Tech Week and UKTIN Semiconductor Experts Working Group, and is a mentor with various organisations, including the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK. He is a Trustee of UKESF, the charity that encourages young people to study electronics and supports them in education and early career development.
