Another user got lucky with his purchase and bought a 32 GB DDR5 RAM kit for much lower than the current prices.

Seller Lists DDR5 Corsair Dominator RAM as “DDR4”, Buyer Grabs it for Just $120

We are regularly hearing stories of someone getting extremely lucky in snagging high-end PC hardware for a much lower price, and this one is no different. The user u/HappifyChris is another Redditor who was able to get a DDR5 memory kit for a much lower price than he would have found on the retailers. As you might know, a 32 GB DDR5 memory kit usually sells for at least $350-$400 these days, but in the pre-RAMpocalypse era, the prices were around $100-$150 depending on the memory kit.

This Redditor was able to get a premium DDR5 32 GB Corsair Dominator memory kit for even lower than its pre-RAMpocalypse price. He reportedly spotted a post on Facebook Marketplace of someone selling a DDR4 RAM kit for $120. These days, a 32 GB DDR4 RAM also costs quite high, but nonetheless, the buyer correctly identified it as a DDR5 kit. The user already rocked a DDR4 platform, but wanted to upgrade to DDR5, but he thought he couldn’t do it due to the sky-high prices.

Nonetheless, he bought the Corsair 32 GB DDR5 Dominator memory for $120 and bought a new MSI PRO Z790-A motherboard as well. Previously, he used the ASUS TUF Z690 WiFi D4, but as both motherboards use the same socket, he didn’t have to change his processor. The new DDR5 RAM kit on the new motherboard is working fine, as you can see from the pics. So, he was able to save a lot of money on the RAM kit that could have cost him nearly $500 if we check the current Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM prices.

Such stories have been popping up on Reddit lately, and we recently also saw a user getting multiple free M.2 SSDs pre-installed on a motherboard that was sold for just $50. These incidents might be occasional, but are now common on the r/pcmasterrace subreddit.
