While the discount will slowly creep up as the months go by, you might want to keep the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro a viable option because it is oozing tremendous value right now.

From a design perspective, the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro shares virtually no differences with the M4 MacBook Pro, but the underlying changes are extensive, starting with the chipset upgrade. The M5 sports a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU for this configuration, and despite its core count unchanged from the M4, the newest member of the Apple Silicon can deliver multi-core performance comparable to a workstation-class M1 Ultra.
If that did not impress you, the M5’s gaming performance witnesses a massive boost in Cyberpunk 2077, where, with ray tracing enabled, the chipset can obtain a 190 percent increase in the average framerate, though we must confess that the benchmark comparison was performed against an M4 MacBook Air, not an M4 MacBook Pro. Apple has also increased the SSD speeds on the M5 MacBook Pro, with the machine now boasting a 211 percent performance boost compared to its direct predecessor. While these are all welcome changes, it is not like the M4 MacBook Pro will immediately become a low-grade product because its successor has arrived. On the contrary, it is an exceptional machine, and if you think a $50 discount is too small for your taste, how about $251?
