Google appears to be playing it safe with its upcoming budget offering, the Pixel 10a. If the latest CAD renders are anything to go by, the tech giant is eschewing flashy design changes and opting for a predictable, if somewhat boring, overall design language.
Almost nothing appears to have changed between the Pixel 9a and the upcoming Pixel 10a, as per the new CAD renders
As per the CAD renders published by the X user OnLeaks on behalf of Android Headlines, the following can be easily concluded:
- Google appears to be sticking with a thick-bezeled, plastic-back design for the Pixel 10a.
- The camera bar on the back houses a dual-camera setup.
- The Volume key is still located below the power key.
- Antenna lines remain visible from lateral angles.
- Symmetrical placement of the speaker and microphone voids at the bottom.
As for the budget offering’s rumored specs, the following is known at the moment:
- A 6.2-inch display
- Dimensions of 153.9 x 72.9 x 9mm
- A Tensor G4 SoC, which is the same one used in the Pixel 9a, albeit with a higher clock speed
- A battery capacity of 5,100mAh or greater
- MSRP of around $499
- A spring 2026 launch
Of course, Google might try to create some differentiation between the Pixel 10a and its older sibling by introducing new color options or bumping up the base storage from 128GB. Don’t count on the latter possibility, though.
Honestly speaking, if the Pixel 10a launches with these specs, the Pixel 9a would become an immediate bargain, creating a sizable demand influx for the older-gen model. On the positive side, Google is expected to adhere to its traditionally strong Pixel selling points, including 7 years of software support.
