Apex satellite manufacturer becomes billion dollar company

The Los Angeles-based company said the funding will be used to double the size of its manufacturing facilities and significantly increase spacecraft production.

The latest round was led by Interlagos, with existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures and 8VC.

Apex previously raised $200 million in funding back in April 2025, with the aim to increase production of its satellites.

The company dates from 2022 with its founding by lan Cinnamon, CEO, and Max Benassi, CTO. Apex aims to produce satellite buses fast and at scale, and currently aligns itself with the Golden Dome missile defence initiative.

It highlights that its platforms can host both commercial and government payloads. For example, Earth observation or missile-tracking capabilities.
