The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with some improvements, but even so, it cannot compare with how good the game can look with ray tracing and other mods.

A new video shared by Digital Dreams on YouTube showcases the game running with the Ray Tracing Beyond All Limits ReShade preset at the new Ultra settings mode, which makes the game look downright gorgeous, even though, at times, the modded visuals don’t suit the game’s visual style very much. While the Nintendo Switch 2 supports ray tracing, it is unlikely even a proper remaster of Zelda: Breath of the Wild could use ray tracing massively, so playing the game on PC via emulators with mods will continue to be the way to go for those looking to experience the game with the best possible visuals.

While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, will not be able to match the graphics seen in the video above on Nintendo Switch 2, the upcoming upgraded versions will still be an enticing purchase for fans of the series. Besides enhanced resolutions and frame rates, the Switch 2 editions of both games will come with HDR support, a new mechanic called Zelda Notes accessible via the Nintendo Switch app, and the option to create a second save file. Both games will launch together with the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th.
