Microsoft is adding a new AI agent to Windows that will have the power to change your Windows settings.
“We set out to solve one of the most common frustrations we hear — finding and changing settings on your PC — using the power of AI agents,” Navjot Virk, corporate vice president of Windows Experiences at Microsoft, said in a blog post on Tuesday. “An agent uses on-device AI to understand your intent and with your permission, automate and execute tasks.”

A user can open Copilot, Microsoft’s artificial intelligence assistant, and tell it that their mouse pointer is too small. Copilot will then recommend steps to increase the size of their mouse pointer. If the user gives the AI permission, Copilot will make the mouse pointer slightly larger without the user having to do anything further.
Microsoft said AI agents can help troubleshoot PC issues but did not specify what the AI agents will be able to do. AI agents will make their way to Windows Insiders using Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with AMD and Intel devices added shortly after. AI Agents will only be available in English initially, with more languages coming later.
