Zelle is experiencing an outage affecting the ability of users to send money transfers through their banks. There were 877 reports of the digital payment service’s network being down as of May 2 at 1:20 pm ET, according to data from Downdetector. (Downdetector is owned by Ziff Davis, the same parent company as CNET.)

Newsweek reported that a Zelle spokesperson responded in a statement that the situation involves a third-party provider. “Zelle users may see their transactions marked as ‘payment pending'” while the company works to resolve the matter, the statement reportedly said. Zelle did not respond to a request from CNET for comment.

Zelle is a peer-to-peer payment model that lets users send and receive money via accounts connected through their phone number or email. Zelle closed down its standalone app last month but continues to offer its digital payment services through more than 2,000 banks, including Bank of America and Chase. If you need to send or receive money while the service remains down, there are several other payment apps you can use, including Apple Pay, Cash App or Venmo.
