So, 64 years ago, started a story in Electronics Weekly’s edition of March 29th 1961
The new partnership, known as Armstrong Whitworth-Brush, will manufacture and market advanced electronic and electrical control and intelligence systems.
Brush will act as the marketing organisation for the partnership, working in co-operation with the sales staff of Armstrong Whitworth Equipment, although both companies, will continue to operate in their established fields.
AWA have an existing tie-up with Gloster TDD, which produces aircraft control systems and hydraulics.
Also in the Hawker Siddeley group are de Havilland and Blackburn Aircraft, each with an electronics section.
All four electronics divisions are complementary, and will continue to operate separately.
