AMD says that rumors of the Radeon RX 9070 MSRPs being “launch-only” prices aren’t true at all, saying that they are working with AIBs to ensure prices remain consistent.
AMD Won’t Bump Up RX 9070 Series Pricing After Launch, Showing Their Commitment Towards Gamers
Well, Team Red’s RDNA 4 GPU launch received quite a reception from the consumer markets, with retailers reporting “thousands” of units getting sold out in the initial launch timeline. With the huge demand, it was assumed that MSRP pricing on the RX 9070 series would last only for the first batch of GPUs; however, according to a statement by AMD’s Frank Azor, it is claimed that they are working with the supply chain to ensure MSRP price tag remains consistent, and that inventory levels will be replenished over time.
Demand today for our new @amdradeon cards has been phenomenal. We are working with our AIBs to replenish stock at our partners ASAP in the coming days and weeks. MSRP pricing (excluding region specific tariffs and/or taxes) will continue to be encouraged beyond today so don’t… pic.twitter.com/8VxGioMkev

This is indeed great news for consumers who were looking to get their hands on the Radeon RX 9070 series but couldn’t do so on the first launch day. AMD’s not increasing its pricing after the launch day shows the company’s commitment to the mainstream GPU segment and how the firm is ensuring that consumers are getting the most out of what they are paying. Team Red has also claimed they are working to get inventory back to optimal levels, which is yet again exciting.

However, the pricing of the RX 9070 series might fluctuate based on different regions, since in the EU, the stock levels are much lower compared to those in the US. Due to this, some retailers might bump up the pricing, but with Team Red confirming that they are not raising the MSRP, we expect many variants to be available at the right price tag. Apart from this, custom top-tier variants might retail for prices above the MSRP, but that is something the respective AIB partner has set and is only for specific models.
It won’t be wrong to say that the GPU markets finally have something to cherish, since with NVIDIA’s RTX 50 release, all we saw was troubles emerge with each passing day. With models like the Radeon RX 9070 XT offering impressive perf/$ value, we now have a leader in the mainstream GPU segment, and this will ultimately reflect in the market shares of both NVIDIA and AMD.
