Galaxy S25 Ultra Has Slimmer Bezels Than Its Immediate Predecessor, The Galaxy S24 Ultra, But Tipster Shows That One Needs To Zoom In Considerably To See This Difference

A combination of subtle design changes and a reduction of the bezels allowed Samsung to not only increase the display size of its latest Galaxy S25 Ultra, but the flagship now flaunts a smaller footprint than its immediate predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. One tipster now shares the bezels between the two models, but in order to spot the difference, you really have to look carefully.

Samsung did not highlight what method it used to reduce the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s bezels, but it could be related to the company using different display technology

Both the bezels of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra were placed next to one another, with Ice Universe comparing both flagships. The zoomed image definitely shows that Samsung worked some of its technological magic to ensure that the bezels see a reduction, but during the Galaxy Unpacked event, the company did not mention any of these efforts.

It is possible that because the difference is so negligible from a small distance, it will appear as if the bezels remain the same, so perhaps Samsung thought that this minute change might not appear as worthy marketing material. However, we did report that all Galaxy S25 models now feature Samsung’s ‘hybrid oxide and polycrystalline silicon’ 3.0, or HOP 3.0 technology, which is the company’s own version of LTPO and it comes with a string of benefits that include improved efficiency and a better touch sample rate.

Assuming that these panels also allowed Samsung to reduce the bezels, then more power to the Korean giant for implementing this technology. For those criticizing Samsung for not introducing a significant reduction in these bezels, it becomes increasingly difficult to reduce even 0.1mm thanks to the enormous cost and engineering associated.

We can all agree that Samsung made the right call by reducing the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s footprint, but even if that was not the case, we doubt that most buyers would have cared. However, if you are compelled by the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s design and want to make the flagship your daily driver, Amazon is running a phenomenal promotion as it is giving a $200 gift card to those who will pre-order the smartphone.
