“The CPG family of pogo pins offers gold plated contacts for high reliability, with mating cycle ratings now up to 20,000 cycles,” according to the company.
They come in surface mount, wire mount and through hole varieties, with initial operating forces across 10 to 125g, mid-compression forces from 15 to 165g, and recommended working heights from 0.5 to 14.9mm.
Multiple contact pad shapes are available, and some work over -40 to 85°C.
Picking the CPG-11-SMT-B almost at random (left in the photo), it is gold-plated brass and shaped to be suitable for injection moulding.
Maximum electrical ratings are 12V and 1A, with a contact resistance of 50mΩ.
Uncompressed height is 2.4mm and its nominal working height is 2mm where operating force is 70±20g. The operating range is 2.1mm (60±20g) to 1.9mm (80±20g).
Expected life is 10,000 cycles, and operation is over -40 to +85°C.
