“The ChatGPT moment for general robotics is just around the corner,” said Huang at CES accompanied on stage by images of humanoid robots, “large language models, world foundation models are fundamental to advancing robot, yet not all developers have the expertise and resources to train their own. We created Cosmos to democratise physical AI and put general robotics in reach of every developer.”
Availsble under an open model licence, Cosmos has been trained with 20 million hours of video to help robots “understand the physical world,” said Huang.
Last month, C.C.Wei told a Taipei audience: “One area I would point out is multifunctional robots, which is the critical direction for the future. I just spoke to the richest man in the world a few days ago, and he told me that multifunctional robots are the most critical area and that he is dedicating great efforts to it, rather than to cars.”
Musk is supposed to be launching a multifunctional humanoid robot called Optimus in 2026.
