As we progress through the first month of the new year, Apple announced on Friday that it will release its Q1 2025 earnings on January 30, giving us some proper numbers on how well the technology giant’s iPhone 16 launch has done since its inception in September last year. To recap, the company garnered a massive $119.6 billion revenue in Q1 2024, with the iPhone lineup bringing in more than 50 percent of that number with $69.7 billion in revenue. However, given that the newer models do not offer any extraordinarily compelling features, it will be interesting to see how Apple fared.

The Services division is expected to provide Apple a solid financial cushion for Q1 2025, as various reports continue to claim that iPhone 16 sales will be flat

Since the iPhone 16 family and the Apple Watch Series 10 went official in the middle of September, the Q4 2024 financial earnings cover data for the first two weeks of sales for both product ranges. When the Q1 2025 report officially arrives, which covers October 2024 to December 2024, we will have a clearer picture of Apple’s performance. Initially, the company had a 90 million shipment target when it announced the iPhone 16 series, making it approximately 10 percent higher than the iPhone 15.

Unfortunately, some analysts have mentioned that iPhone 16 sales have been muted due to the lack of generative AI features, with new estimates placing the shipment count at 76 million units. Assuming Apple does not hit a home run with the latest models, its Services category has shown great promise over the previous four quarters, with the number picking up for each successive period. For Q4 2024, this division generated $24.7 billion in revenue, making it slightly higher than the $24.21 billion figure it made in Q3.

Additionally, Apple launched its new M4 Macs in October, and given how competitively priced the M4 Mac mini was at $599 for the base model, our gut tells us that the Cupertino firm will share some strong figures for its hardware arm. Apple’s Q1 2025 earnings call will be held at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET with the company releasing its full earnings report 30 minutes prior to the call.
