The second biggest growth search term compared to 2003 was “excessive heat”. As of November, 2024 was on track to be the warmest year on record.
On the music scene, Sean “Diddy” Combs was the biggest growing search term following his lawsuits involving sexual assault, rape and sex trafficking, followed by Usher, Linkin Park, Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Timberlake.
In movie-land, Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine and Saltburn got the biggest clicks-growth.
The highest growing searches for earworms were “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts and “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga were the three tunes that were looked up most frequently using the “hum to search” function.
For people the biggest increases in searches were for Trump, Harris and Princess Kate. The most highly searched death was Liam Payne.
