However, the company saw fit to announce the new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max MacBook Pro models. With so many delays in the past, could Apple launch the OLED iPad Pro models at its WWDC 2024 event?
Could the OLED iPad Pro see another delay for the WWDC 2024 launch?
The iPad is having a hard time seeing daylight, and it raises the question of whether the company is struggling with the production of the entire lineup. It was reported last year that Apple plans to upgrade all iPad models in 2024, and after the first quarter, we still have not seen any new iPads. The company is expected to launch the OLED iPad Pro, iPad Air 6, iPad mini 7, and the 11th-gen iPad as part of its upgrade cycle this year.
From late 2023 to early 2024 reports, the OLED iPad Pro failed to reach the hands of the consumer. The tablet was also expected to arrive by the end of March or at the beginning of April, but the latest reports nullified the time frame. Now, we are expecting the new OLED iPad Pro models to arrive in early May, but it could see another unexpected delay as Apple appears to be struggling with OLED production issues.
The company announced that it will be hosting its WWDC 2024 event on June 10, where it will see fit to announce iOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, iPadOS 18, and other updates for its devices. The recently reported May launch time frame for the OLED iPad Pro is only a month away from WWDC 2024, and it would make sense for Apple to announce the new products with the software updates in June. While it would make sense for the company, these are mere speculations at this stage as the final word rests with Apple.
Since the iPad Pro has seen a lot of delays over the past few months, we would not be surprised if the company shifted its launch time frame from early May to early June. Besides OLED display issues, Apple is also developing a version of iPadOS with dedicated changes designed for the OLED iPad Pro. It remains to be seen if the OLED iPad Pro will see another delay.
