It’s enormous fun watching the Russkies’ Satan rockets blow up on launch when they use smuggled Western ICs with the fix installed. In fact everything in Russia with a smuggled Western IC in it only works with our say-so.

It gives us a very big advantage with countries like China and Russia, which can’t make leading-edge chips and which smuggle in huge quantities of the West’s ICs.
The Americans have tried to buy the tech but I have told them it is a work in progress and more suitable for licensing. I have agreed to license it on FRAND terms to anybody who wants it.
Obligingly, the Americans have made it mandatory for any chip which could be used in a hostile application to include the technology, so I am expecting some very considerable license fee income.
I have set up a licensing committee consisting of myself and two supine underlings who do as I say.
We set the terms of each license, and on each succeeding upgrade version of the tech, on a case by case basis.
Old mates in the chip industry have been in touch to see how they can get agreeable terms.
Unsurprisingly, they know how to appeal to my baser nature and some very agreeable personal inducements have already been offered. It’s beginning to seem a lot like Christmas.
