Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima received critical acclaim for taking a whole new direction of action-adventure. Unfortunately, Jin Sakai’s saga has now concluded, and he will not return in Ghost of Yōtei, which you can pre-order from Amazon for $69.99. While we can understand how you might feel about this decision, this is not the first time that a protagonist has changed for the sequel, and if you have yet to check out the game’s preview, be sure to watch the trailer given below.
It was later revealed in a follow-up trailer that the Ghost of Yōtei will launch in October, with the Amazon listing stating that the item will be released on October 2. If Ghost of Tsushima exceeded your expectations, then the Ghost of Yōtei could possibly introduce a gold standard of console gaming because even Sony PlayStation Studios’ former head, Shuhei Yoshida, said that he has played the game, and it is better than the first installment.
Sucker Punch have also revealed that Ghost of Yōtei involves a more extensive story, and will give players more freedom by introducing a non-linear plot, with the primary goal of the protagonist being revenge. The title will sport the largest open-map setting for any game released by the gaming studio, hinting that there will be tons of exploration, side quests, and duels to immerse yourself in.
Since Ghost of Yōtei will be a PlayStation exclusive, it will arrive for the PC platform much later. Assuming you have yet to upgrade to a PS5, you might finally gain sufficient reason to get Sony’s latest and greatest console. As for pre-ordering Ghost of Yōtei, you still have plenty of time to make a decision, but if you have played Ghost of Tsushima, we completely understand if you become impulsive with this pre-order.
