Are Cyber Monday tool deals better than Father’s Day sales?
Black Friday and Cyber Monday tend to be marginally better for hardware sales than Father’s Day for a few reasons. More people need tools than just fathers, so more diverse types of tools or tool kit styles tend to see sales this time of year, and retailers seeking record sales numbers during the all-important fourth quarter of the year tend to expand deals to a wider variety of gear. Especially at retailers not exclusively focused on tools like Amazon, tool deals tend to be better on Black Friday and Cyber Monday than Father’s Day as there’s a more defined season and a much larger shopping audience to aim for.
Should I buy tool bundles or individual pieces?
It’s easy to get caught up in upgrade fever and just buy the big fancy bundles like this behemoth $619 6-tool Cordless Power Tool Set, especially when they can add up to tremendous savings over buying individual tools. However, before you buy a bundle, I need you to sincerely ask yourself the following question: how much of the bundle do you actually need? Yeah sure, we’ll never turn down a good contractor bag, but how many of you actually use a circular saw and don’t already own one? Do you really need a grinder for something other than marking sparks fly?
Dewalt has more Combo Kits than you can shake a sawzall at, and if you intend to go all-in on Dewalt’s 20V Max system, you might want to replace some of your aging tools through the larger bundles just so you can keep all the batteries the same. But if you just need to replace a burned out drill — or your daughter just moved into her first place, and you want a drill set that you can trust to be there when she asks you for help installing whatever — aim for smaller bundles like this 20V Max Cordless Drill Combo Kit. Kits with a battery charger and spare battery are always handy, but multi-tool sets can often negate your savings by giving you tools that you don’t need or, worse, don’t know how to handle.
Why this deal matters
You can save hundreds of dollars on Dewalt power tools and accessories, likely for the last time this year. Plus, getting up to 68% off power tools is a rare deal — after all, when not on sale, these tools can get pricey. These make great gifts for people who tend to take on their home projects solo. Or, if you’d like to get ahead of your own 2025 to-do list, you can purchase some of these tools to avoid paying full prices or having to hire someone else to assist you.
