Black Friday brings us another streaming service deal that’s there for the taking thanks to a special promo for Hulu. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get a subscription to stream original shows like Shogun, The Bear or Only Murders in the Building, it’s a good time to take advantage of Hulu’s holiday offer to get the ad-based plan for $1 a month for 12 months. Currently, its regular price is $10 per month. Open to new customers and those who have not had a Hulu subscription in the last 30 days, the deal slashes the monthly price by 90%.
This discount runs from Wednesday, Nov. 27 to Monday, Dec. 2 at 11:59 p.m. PST, and applies to the standalone Hulu ad-supported subscription only. The deal excludes current Hulu subscribers, those with the Max bundle, and customers who have a Disney bundle — including the Disney Basic Duo plan with ads. The catch? You must be billed directly through Hulu and not a third party like Roku or Amazon.
Hulu has more than just entertaining originals and FX content. The US-based service streams live news, network TV shows and movies from major studios like Disney (watch Alien: Romulus right now), Searchlight Pictures, Fox and more. It’s the only place to watch the anime series Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, and you can primetime favorites such as Grey’s Anatomy, Abbott Elementary, High Potential and Family Guy on the platform. Lots of holiday content is airing this season, but if you like streaming TV, this Black Friday deal may be a must-have.

As an added bonus, you have the option of signing up for a Starz add-on for $1 a month for six months. It’s available for current or new Hulu subscribers who don’t have a Starz account. Home of Outlander, the Power universe, Sweetpea and a host of TV shows and movies, Starz typically costs $11 per month.
Why this deal matters
In case you missed it, Disney hiked prices on all of its streaming services in October. Hulu with ads now costs $10 a month, while its ad-free plan went up to $19. If you don’t have Hulu at all as a standalone or part of a bundle package, the Black Friday discount saves you $9 — an incredibly low price ithat’s hard to beat in the streaming world.
