Gaggione LLC22R

LLC22R (pictured) is a 16mm collimator claimed to achieve ±4.45° (8.9° FWHM) and 34.2cd/lm with Cree XP-P leds. Emitters up to 5 x 5mm can be accommodated.

LLC25R is a 32mm collimator claimed to achieve ±2.15 (4.3° FWHM) and 149.9cd/lm with Cree XP-P led. Emitters of up to 10.9mm diameter (CoBs for example) can be accommodated.

Efficiency is said to be above 90%, and there is polycarbonate version called LLC25R1.

Gaggione beam rings supressed

To supress ring artifacts (left) from the beams of its 45mm collimators, of which LLC59R and LLC59RF (frosted front) are the narrowest examples, the company has produced some clip-on ring masks.

Mask LLW59FM is specifically developed for LLC59U – formerly the company’s narrowest 45mm collimator.

“In the search for a more intensive beam and the best possible cut-off, the appearance of rings around the main beam is inevitable,” according to the company. “This flat mask helps to reduce stray light with most intensive beams and is good for facade and wall grazing applications.”

Maximum intensity will decreased by the mask – by 13.6% is an example application. FWHM (full-width at half of maximum) and FWTM (full-width at tenth of maximum beam angles are not impacted.

LLW59HM (right) is specifically developed for LLC59R, the company’s current 45mm narrow beam champion.

Maximum intensity will drop by ~6%, again without effect on FWHM or FWTM.

As well as in black, both masks are available moulded in transparent plastic.
