“The designs leverage both wound and low-profile planar transformers and target automotive applications such as dc-dc bus conversion, inverter emergency power, battery management and power supplies for auxiliary systems,” according to the company. “The designs feature [a] wide-creepage InSOP-28G package which supports 1,000Vdc on the primary side while providing appropriate creepage and clearance between pins in pollution degree 2 environments.” Drain-to-source pin creepage is 5.1mm. “It provides sufficient isolation that conformal coating can be eliminated.”
There of the designs are implemented in reference designs kits, while the other two are design example reports.
The company is to be credited for the quality of its reference designs, which are the real thing: with everything needed, including thermal data, to drop the design into a product.
InnoSwitch3-AQ is a constant-voltage constant-current dc-dc converter that includes a 1.7kV silicon carbide power switch that can deliver up to 120W. “Devices start up with as little as 30V on the drain pin without external circuitry,” said the company. “Additional protection features include input under-voltage, output over-voltage and over-current limiting. Power consumption is less than 15mW at no-load.”
