Canadian overclocker saltycroissant is the first to cross the 12800 MT/s mark on the Z890 platform, achieving the highest frequency on DDR5.
World Record Set by bl4ckdot was Broken Within a Day by Another Enthusiast Overclocker saltycroissant; Pushes DDR5 Memory to 12806 MT/s on Z890 Taichi OCF
We expected a couple of weeks before we could see the recent world record set by the overclocker bl4ckdot broken, who achieved an incredible 12,774 MT/s. This record perhaps lived the shortest and was broken the same day by another popular overclocker who goes by the username “saltycroissant”.
This overclocker has previously set many DDR5 overclocking world records and, once again, has emerged at the top with his insane 12806 MT/s. Saltycroissant used Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory to achieve this speed on the ASRock Z809 Taichi OCF, which remains one of the most popular Z890 motherboards for overclocking.

By deploying nitrogen cooling on the setup, consisting of Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, the overclocker made history by breaking the 12,800 MT/s barrier. Previous overclocking records remained in the 12,700-12,800 MT/s range, and the speed achieved by bl4ckdot was just 2 MHz higher than Seby’s. The results have been uploaded to HWBot and have been validated by CPU-Z.
The 12,806 MT/s was achieved at the same cache latency as the former world record by bl4ckdot, i.e., at CL68-127-127-127-2. So, it’s definitely impressive to see that there is more room for improvement without having to compromise on the timings. ASRock happily shared this update on its official handle as well.

The Z890 platform remains unchallenged when it comes to pushing DDR5 memories to their potential, and ASRock’s Z890 Taichi OCF is surely one of the handful of motherboards to help overclockers achieve the highest DDR5 speeds. The world records will likely continue getting broken in the coming weeks, and we are quite close to the 13,000 MT/s mark after a long time.
However, crossing this 200 MT/s difference is going to take a while, and it appears that such potential exists in multiple DDR5 RAM kits from various vendors. V-Color, G.Skill, and Corsair DDR5 memory modules have been the most dominant in this area, and their manufacturers keep releasing faster and bigger capacity memories.
